Prepare for your Queenstown rental with a clear document checklist and an explanation of the costs to confirm before booking. Your vehicle-specific quote and rental agreement set out the final booking conditions.
Your quote and rental agreement confirm the conditions for your selected vehicle.
Driver licence and overseas documents
Carry a current driver licence that permits you to drive the vehicle. If it is not in English, carry an accepted English translation or an International Driving Permit alongside your original licence. An IDP does not replace your current overseas licence.
You must be eligible to drive in New Zealand. Overseas licence time limits and other eligibility rules depend on the current NZTA requirements. Check the official guidance linked below before travelling, especially if you have lived in New Zealand for an extended period.
Driver age and additional drivers
Tell us the age and licence type of every intended driver before booking. Eligibility, any minimum holding period and any young-driver conditions must be confirmed for the selected vehicle.
Include every intended driver in your enquiry and have their eligibility confirmed before the handover. Ask our team which identity documents and payment method to bring, and whether any additional-driver charge applies.
Security bond and payment
A refundable security bond is separate from the rental price. Confirm the bond amount, accepted payment method and whether the security is handled as a card pre-authorisation or a charged deposit before agreeing to rent.
Our team must confirm the release conditions and expected processing time for your booking. Bank processing can affect when funds become available again. This website does not take payment or collect card details.
Range Rover V8 protection options
Standard Insurance: NZ$300/day with NZ$6,000 excess. Reduced Excess: NZ$350/day with NZ$2,500 excess. Premium Protection: NZ$380/day with NZ$500 excess. Zero Excess Protection: NZ$400/day with NZ$0 excess. These combined rates include rental and the selected protection.
A 10-day rental totals NZ$3,000, NZ$3,500, NZ$3,800 or NZ$4,000 respectively. Fuel, additional services and any security bond are excluded. All cover is subject to confirmation, the rental agreement, policy conditions and exclusions. These rates apply to the Range Rover V8; request a quote for other vehicles. Zero excess does not remove the separate security bond requirement.
Insurance cover and excess
The excess is the amount you may be responsible for under the agreed cover if there is damage or a claim. A security bond and an insurance excess are different amounts and should not be assumed to be the same.
Ask for the included cover, excess, exclusions and any available cover options in writing. Confirm the treatment of glass, tyres, underbody, keys, roadside assistance and permitted roads for your vehicle. The quote and rental agreement confirm what applies.
Pickup, fuel and returning the car
Queenstown Airport pickup is free; other locations are by arrangement. Share your arrival time and flight number, if available. Confirm the meeting point and your agreed return location and time with our team.
Return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at pickup. Check the vehicle condition and fuel level together at handover. Contact us promptly about an incident or damage and follow the instructions in your rental agreement. Ask for approval before extending or returning late.
Changes, cancellation and charges
Date changes and extensions are subject to availability. Contact us by WhatsApp or email as soon as your plans change. Confirm the cancellation deadline, refund conditions and treatment of early returns before accepting the booking.
Ask for any applicable location, fuel, cleaning, late-return or other charges before agreeing to rent. Your personal quote confirms the full price and the conditions that apply to your booking.
